# Build in chat, use anywhere

> You build pebbles by talking to your AI, and use them in your chat and in the pebblebase app. There's no builder.

You build pebbles by talking to your AI, so there's no builder, editor or code to learn. You use them in two places: your AI chat and the pebblebase app.

## Why there's no builder

Your AI already understands what you mean. pebblebase gives it a place to keep the tool and checks its work with tests, so you never design a screen or a table yourself.

## In your AI chat

Build and change pebbles, log records in plain words, and ask questions such as "How many hours did I bill last week?" Views and forms draw in the chat in AI apps that support MCP Apps; others show the results as text. The [connect page](/connect) lists the AI apps tested with pebblebase.

## In the pebblebase app

The app at app.pebblebase.dev shows your pebbles at a glance: a Dashboard of the views you check most, each pebble's views, and its forms. Reminders arrive there, and one tap opens the form. Changes to how a pebble works still go through your AI chat.
