## Ask it

- Who's arriving and leaving today?
- Is there a room for four from June 12 to June 15?
- Check in the Rivera party and record a $200 card payment.
- Room 3 is clean again.
- What's still owed on stays that have ended?

## What's inside

- Records: rooms; reservations; confirmations, cancellations, no-shows, check-ins and check-outs; payments, charges and refunds; cleaning; lodging tax rates.
- Views: Today (table), Rooms (table), Reservations (table), Balances (table), Money history (table).
- Reminders: none.
- Tests: 47.

## Good to know

- No online booking, channel sync or card processing: you record the money you actually received.
- One room per reservation at an agreed nightly rate: no groups, room types or dynamic pricing.
- No tax filing or accounting. Taxes are the rates you enter, so check them for your area.

## Rebuilt

Rebuilt 2026-10-13 in Claude: 47 tests pass.

Help me run the front desk of a small lodge I own. Keep my rooms with their capacity, nightly rate, and whether each is clean and in service; reservations with the guest's name and contact, one room, arrival and departure dates, party size and an agreed nightly rate; every confirmation, cancellation, no-show, check-in and check-out; payments, charges and refunds; cleaning; and the lodging tax rates I give you. Don't add any rooms until I tell you about them.

Views: today's arrivals, departures, guests in house, rooms to clean and unpaid balances; my rooms and their status; all reservations with what's still due; balances; and a money history.

Rules: dates must be real, departure comes after arrival, and new arrivals can't be in the past. A party can't be bigger than its room. A new reservation is a draft until I confirm it, and only confirmed or checked-in stays hold a room: they can't overlap in the same room, but one guest can leave the morning another arrives. A reservation copies the room's rate when it's made, so a later rate change doesn't touch it. Only a clean, in-service, empty room can be checked in, and check-out marks it dirty. Check-in posts the room total and each tax once, each tax rounded to the cent. Money history can't be edited or deleted: fix a mistake by reversing it. A refund can't be more than the guest has paid. Cancelling inside my cancellation window keeps what was paid; outside it, the guest is owed a refund. A no-show keeps what was paid. Ask me for my cancellation window and my tax rates.

Write these as tests first. Ask me rather than invent names, amounts or dates.
